Too often when new development happens, we get used to the new landscape and totally forget what the old landscape looked like.

On this blog, I attempt to capture changes in the landscape as development happens around various areas in Maryland with focus on western and central Maryland.

I sort of wish there was some precedent that says developers must capture the original view of an area so that we never forget what it looks like.  Some of my favorite types of photos are comparing a picture of how something looks now versus how it used to look.  It's sad how much of older landscapes are simply forgotten about.  I only do this part time and I typically just use the camera on my phone but I think this concept can still be successful and provide value.
